Attorney's Profile
Miryam Antúnez de Mayolo, originally from Lima, Peru is one of few Iowa attorneys trained in both,
the civil and common law systems. Miryam holds dual law degrees: from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos
(Lima, 1990), and from the University of Iowa Law School (Iowa City, 1998). Miryam was legal counsel to the Peruvian
Securities and Exchange Commission, before moving to the United States in 1991. She has been a member of the Iowa Bar
Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1999, and was also admitted to practice in the Eighth
Circuit (2000). After two years with a general practice firm in Waterloo, Miryam opened up her own office in June
of 2001. Miryam is a frequent speaker on immigration law and immigration issues before her peers and the public in general.
Miryam has been quoted by the Omaha World Herald , the Des Moines Register, the Quad City Times, Cedar Rapids Gazette
and Waterloo Courier among other publications. She has also appeared on local CBS and Fox News in Cedar Rapids (March
20, 2006) as a guest commentator. Miryam practices all aspects of Immigration and Naturalization law, including but
not limited to asylum, family-based immigration, consular processing, deportation defense, employment-based immigration,
non-immigrant visas, waivers, reopening of deportation orders and naturalization applications. In her free time Miryam enjoys
reading literature, international travel, and watching foreign films.
Gunda J. Brost, Law Clerk
Gunda Johanna Brost, originally from Oldenburg, North Germany, holds a law
degree from Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota (May 2006). Prior to going to law school, Gunda was
a model, and a foreign language teacher, who taught English asa Second Language in Omaha, Nebraska. Gunda's legal experience
includes being a student attorney (2004) and student director for the Minneapolis Public Defender's office (2005), as
well as representing clients in mediation proceedings in Hamline's mediation clinic (2005). Gunda is fluent in English,
French and German, and she is conversant in Spanish. Gunda is not yet licensed to practice law; we expect her to be licensed
by next April. In the meantime, she is clerking at the firm. Besides her law degree, Gunda holds a B.A. from Wartburg College
and a Master's degree in German from Middlebury College, Vermont. As a fun fact, Gunda was Mrs. Nebraska, U.S.A.1999.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, foreign movies, dancing, art,music and traveling.
Roxanne Rodríguez de Gálvez, Paralegal
“Roxy” graduated from Hamilton College in 2003 with a Paralegal degree. She has been with the firm since
2002. Originally from Texas, where she grew up Roxy is fluent in English and Spanish. She is currently a student at the University
of Northern Iowa.

charge $120.00 for the first consultation. We charge a flat-fee rather than an hourly fee for most of our services,
since we have found that most people prefer to know what their costs will be from the outset of our representation. We also
offer payment plans to qualified individuals. If you wish to set-up an appointment, please e-mail us a brief description
